Because we'd rather make one sock that's the best you've ever worn than forty that are just fine. Everything we have goes into our knee-high alpaca compression sock.
What makes alpaca so warm?
Each alpaca fibre has a hollow core that traps warm air, so you get serious warmth from a sock that's still light and breathable.
Where are your socks made?
Alpine Woolies is a New Zealand business. Our socks are made in China and shipped to you by our fulfilment partner. We'd rather tell you than leave you guessing.
Will they itch?
Alpaca is naturally free of lanolin, the oil in sheep's wool that many people react to, and its fibres are smoother. Most people who find wool scratchy are comfortable in alpaca.
How do the bundles work?
Choose a bundle on the product page: buy 2 and get 1 free (3 pairs), or buy 3 and get 5 free (8 pairs), with a bigger bundle for stocking up. Mix any colours; the discount applies automatically in your cart.
What size should I get?
There's only one size. Our compression socks are knitted with plenty of stretch to fit most adult feet. If they don't fit you, our 100-day guarantee has you covered.
How do I wash them?
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, inside out, and hang them to dry. Skip the fabric softener and the tumble dryer, and they'll stay soft for longer.
Will they pill?
Natural fibres can fuzz a little in the first few washes. Washing inside out on a cool, gentle cycle keeps it to a minimum. If a pair wears badly, tell us; that's what our guarantee is for.
What's the 100-Day Best Socks Guarantee?
If they're not the best socks you've ever worn, email us within 100 days of delivery and we'll refund the pairs you're not happy with. You don't need to send them back.
How long does shipping take?
Orders are packed within 1–3 business days and usually arrive 7–12 business days later. Shipping is free on every bundle.
Are the compression socks medical grade?
No. They give gentle graduated support for everyday comfort, travel and long days on your feet. If you need medical-grade compression, please follow your doctor's advice.
